The public hearing on the Planning Commission Appeals Process is at 5:00PM on Monday, July 25th, 2022 in the Main Assembly Room of the City-County Building (400 Main Street).

If you or your neighborhood would like to speak, here's how to sign up and speak

  1. Sign Up - You must sign up with the County Commission Office.

    1. Go to the Commission's Public Forums Page

    2. Click the "Request to Speak" button

    3. Fill out that form. The meeting date is 07 / 25 / 2022. For the Agenda Item / Topic, state: "5PM Public Hearing on O-22-6-1004"

  2. Please let KCPA know you're speaking - fill out this very short form. That way we can contact you about any late-breaking developments, talking points, etc.

  3. Prepare your Remarks

    1. Speakers get three to five minutes.

    2. Open your address with your name, county of residence. If you're representing an organization or neighborhood, state that and how many people / homes you are representing.

    3. See our main post for topics

    4. Be polite but firm. Make sure everything you do say is factual, not hearsay.

  4. Parking - recommended parking is the Main Street Garage at 550 W Main Street (entrances on Hill Ave and Locust St). $1/hour, easy walk to the building along Main St, and if you leave after 7PM the parking will be free (attendants are done and gates are up)

  5. Before the meeting, you may approach the vice-chair to confirm that they have you signed up to speak at the Public Hearing.

  6. The Public Hearing is the first meeting that will be called to order at 5PM.

  7. When your name is called, go to the podium. Adjust the mic so it is pointed straight at your mouth to ensure you are clearly heard.
